Hawaiian Uku

Honolulu Fish Company Uku

One of the three most popular deepwater snappers in Hawaii. Uku is rich in natural fat, a desirable attribute for sashimi. Moist and firm textured, uku simulates an almost lobster-like density and heartiness. Slightly stronger flavored than the very delicate Opakapaka, uku is an impressive host to rich sauces. Preparation methods include baking, broiling, sautéing and steaming
